Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Verum mobile application ("App") operated by Verum ("we", "our", "us"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Verum. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Account

You create an account using a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account and for all activity that occurs under your Verum account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Description of Service

Verum connects health data from third-party services (including Whoop, BodySpec, and Apple HealthKit) with nutrition and exercise tracking you provide. The App uses AI to generate personalized insights based on this data.

4. Not Medical Advice

Verum is a wellness and informational tool. The insights, recommendations, and data presented in the App are not medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment plans. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making health decisions. We are not responsible for any health outcomes resulting from your use of the App.

5. Third-Party Integrations

The App connects to third-party services (Whoop, BodySpec, Apple HealthKit) through their respective APIs. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party services.

6. Your Data

• You retain ownership of all data you provide to Verum (meal logs, photos, exercise entries).
• You grant us a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the App's functionality, including generating AI-powered insights.
• We handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure
• Access another user's account without authorization
• Use automated means to access the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, is owned by Verum and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the App as intended.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated insights will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App.

11. Account Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting us, and we will delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
